What Travelers Say

A library of honest, unedited travel moments

From sunrise treks in Patagonia to midnight food crawls in Bangkok — here's what our community loved (and the rare times they didn't).

"A sunrise I'll never forget"

Our guide Mateo picked us up at 4:15am with hot cocoa and blankets for the jeep ride up Volcan Villarrica. By the time the sun crested, we were standing on a glacier ridge with not another soul in sight. He knew every safe line, every photo angle, and somehow made 6 hours feel like 60 minutes. Worth every peso.

Mateo's reply "Sienna — that sunrise was special. Thank you for trusting me with your first volcano. Come back in winter for the skiing, I'll handle the cocoa."

"Felt like a friend showing us around"

Aiko took us through Tsukiji's outer market, then the back alleys of Ginza, then a tiny standing-room-only ramen counter I'd never have found alone. She paused for every photo, ordered for us in flawless Japanese, and adjusted the entire route when it started raining. Genuinely one of the best days of our trip.

"Magical day, with one small hiccup"

The hot air balloon over Cappadocia at sunrise was absolutely unreal — Kareem was warm, funny, and kept the champagne flowing after landing. Only reason for 4 stars: pickup was 25 minutes late because of traffic, which cut into our flight time. They refunded part of the fee without me asking, which I really appreciated.

Kareem's reply "Priya, thank you for the honest feedback. The Göreme traffic has been unpredictable this season — we're moving pickups 30 minutes earlier starting November. Hope to host you again."

"Our kids still talk about Lina"

We booked the family Pompeii tour with two kids (8 and 11) and Lina turned what could have been a hot, museum-y slog into a treasure hunt. She had them measuring chariot ruts, decoding frescoes, racing through the amphitheater. They learned more in 3 hours than a week of schoolbooks. Patient, prepared, hilarious.

"Solo travel felt safe and fun"

As a first-time solo female traveler, I was nervous about the Marrakech souks. Yassine stayed close, taught me how to bargain without being rude, and introduced me to three women who run their own argan cooperatives. I left with a full bag, a heavier wallet than I expected, and the confidence to do this again.

Yassine's reply "Elena, your curiosity made the day. The ladies at the cooperative still ask about you — please come back in spring for the rose harvest."

"Re-booked before we even landed home"

The 4-day Patagonia trek with Tomás was the trip of a lifetime. He's not just a guide — he's a storyteller, a meteorologist, and a chef rolled into one. He rerouted us around a storm front without losing a single highlight. Already booked him for Torres del Paine next March with my parents.

How We Verify

Why you can trust every review on GetGuide

Our review system is built on three principles — real bookings, real replies, real consequences.

Only verified bookings can review

Every star, every photo, every word comes from a traveler who paid for and completed the tour through GetGuide. Bots, agencies, and friends-of-friends can't game the system.
